Mail Order

Our Mail Order Pharmacy program was built to offer a solution to meet the challenges of long-term or high-cost medication therapies for chronically injured workers. Each year we ship approximately 400,000 prescriptions through the mail order program.

Additional savings, convenience, control and access

The program provides maximum cost savings, as prescriptions are filled at a higher discount rate, and it delivers exceptional convenience to injured individuals by eliminating inconvenient trips to the pharmacy, waiting in line, and out-of-stock delays. In addition, we provide automatic reminder calls to prevent injured workers from running out of medication and we offer a range of no-hassle refill options, which are shipped free within 24 to 48 hours. Injured workers can also take advantage of a 90-day supply option, when approved by the physician and payor.

Our Mail Order Pharmacy program provides the benefit of registered and clinical pharmacists—experts on pain-management medication and long-term care—who monitor prescriptions and over-the-counter medications for combined-intake risks. These stringent controls span all medications, including Schedule II narcotics. Most importantly, our in-house registered pharmacists are available to counsel an injured worker or claims professional on any medication issues or questions that may arise.

In partnership with our clients, PMSI proactively seeks to identify candidates to transition from retail to mail order. Our recruitment team then works to seamlessly transfer the injured individual into the program, contacting the physician to obtain the prescription and approval from the claims professional, if required. PMSI delivers conversion rates often approaching 20%, which are two to three times higher than the industry average.
